Giving A Presentation With The Use Of A Projector

by Joel Newsome on August 30, 2010

Technology’s innovation has greatly changed people’s daily lives. What people do manually before is now being done with the help of technology. This really provides individual with less work but more finished tasks. For instance, giving a presentation these days can be a lot easier but clearer for both presenters and audience. During the old days, people who give a presentation would usually create their visual aids manually and bring examples of their products that will be used for the presentation. Nowadays, all of this can already be done by just using a computer or a projector.

As an audience, it is important to clearly understand what the presenter is talking about. And, this can be achieved when the presenter is using a projector for his or her presentation as the audience can clearly see the visual aids. This is one reason why projectors are now being used at schools and offices whenever there is a presentation or meetings. With a projector, everyone inside the room can see what the presenter is presenting and talking about. With the help of the projector, the audience can easily see pictures of product samples, videos, charts, and important notes regarding the presentation. Even people who are at the back part of the room can easily see what the presenter is presenting when using a projector.

There is also no need for the presenter to write the important notes or parts of the topic to the blackboard or wide paper or pictures that will be used for the presentation. This minimizes the time consumed when preparing for the presentation. Writing or creating the visual aids manually can really take some time in the part of the presenter.

Also, looking for product samples to be brought for the presentation may not be necessary as the presenter can find pictures or videos of the products in the internet.

Using a projector during a presentation really provides a lot of advantages in the part of the presenter. Whenever there are some parts of the presentation that needs to be recalled, the presenter can easily go back to the page or slide where the topic can be found. Aside from giving a presentation, watching movies can also become more interesting with the use of a projector. Most households these days have with them a projector that they use whenever they want to watch their favorite movies at home. This can provide you with the same feeling of watching a movie in cinemas and movie theaters. Thanks to technology that gave us all these benefits.

Is The Amazon Kindle Any Good?

by Harald Biesterfeld on August 30, 2010

With the promotion of the Kindle, Amazon are hoping their eBook reader is the one everyone will want to own. Amazon have really been pushing hard to show that the Kindle is better than the nearest competitor.

The first thing that sets it apart from the rest is the size and weight. At only 5.3 inches x 7.5 inches x 0.7 inches and weighing only 8.7 ounces the Kindle is small and compact enough to take anywhere and use anywhere. Reading can last as long as 2 weeks without using the WI-FI and up to 10 days with WI-FI active thanks to a good battery life. Charging of the battery is also quite fast so you shouldn′t have any long periods of down time when using the Kindle.

E-Ink is another good feature that the Kindle has. It supposedly mimics the reading of a real book and is doing just that to a certain extent. E-Ink is the solution for those of you that have trouble reading eBooks for a prolonged amount of time on an LCD screen.

A minor drawback of the Kindle is the lack of support for colour. Black, white and shades of grey are the only thing you will see inside the Kindle. You won′t be able to use it to view any coloured print or pictures.

The older version of the Kindle was not prominent at flipping through the pages. It could be quite slow and the touch screen function could compromise easy reading of your book. The new version now has buttons on the side, dedicated to ease the page turning function and is comfortable to use.

Built in WI-FI capability on the Kindle does allow you to surf online but since there is no colour support the pages can only be viewed in black and white. This is quite a large setback of the devices overall capability and leaves you wondering wether WI-FI support was really worth including.

The internal memory has a storage capability of up to 3500 eBooks so you won′t find yourself having to remove older books in order to download new ones. Apps are also available to enable you to read a Kindle eBook on the iPhone or PC.

Besides reading your eBooks and (if you really need to) surfing the internet, there is not much more you can do with the Kindle. Amazon have not yet introduced any kind of open standard so there will be no apps within it. 3rd party applications should be introduced in the near future but given the specifications and restrictions the amount of apps is going to be small.

Most of the eBooks you download should have Digital Rights Management (DRM) on them. Amazon caused quite a scene recently when they deleted a book from every Kindle that downloaded it because the book had been banned by Amazon. This raises a privacy issue with what they can do with your eBooks once they are inside your Kindle.

Why don′t you visit our Kindle store today for the best Kindle deals and accessories. Also available at our Kindle store are various Kindle e-books and e-newspapers.

by Richard Terry on August 29, 2010

Canon has introduced two new models to their Vixia line of cameras; the Canon HF M30 and HF M31 camcorders. For those who shoot a lot, the M31 has more memory built in, with operation however, there is not a lot of difference. The camera has plenty of features while maintaining a compact and slick look. So now introducing Canon HF M30 and Canon HF M31 camcorders.

The M30 comes with a built in eight gigabytes of recording space to get the user started but can support more with the use of an SD card. The M31 boasts 32 gigabytes of space, which more than justifies the price difference between the two. The camera records using the standard MPEG4-AVC/H. 264 so if video is being loaded into the computer for editing, most up to date editing systems will recognize the format and allow editing without converting. The camera comes with a 15x HD lens and can record in 24p (24 progressive frames per second) and 30p (30 progressive frames per second). The 24p mode is good for those wishing to give their footage a film look, while the 30p mode is good for sports and action shots as it reduces motion blur.

The camera body itself is small and weighs less than a pound with the battery. It comes with a rotatable touch panel LCD and has the USB, component, composite and HDMI mini ports. This camera can easily be taken anywhere.

The quarter inch CMOS sensor, along with the facial recognition technology, makes it easy to get the best possible image. If the camera is used with a lot of people, it can track up to 35 of the faces and keep them in focus and properly exposed. By simply using the touch focus feature, it’s never been easier to get a sharp and focused image. With the manual white balance and the manual exposure, the user will have optimal control over their image.

For those that need to use an external microphone, this camera has the option of having it plugged in and recording the audio to the camera along with the video. This camcorder also records sound in native 5.1 surround sound. For being a small camera, it has a lot to offer.

For all of the features that the cameras have, their suggested retail price is not that high. The price that Canon suggests for the M30 is $700 and the M31 is suggested to be $800. The M31 is worth the extra hundred just to have the peace of mind that no matter what happens to the SD card, it will always have enough space to record for a little while.

Both beginners, professionals and those in between can enjoy many of these exciting features. From the different recording modes, it’s compact size and the 5.1 surround sound, the Canon HF M30 and M31 camcorders are worth every penny.

Slow Computer Problems

by Edwood Maurice Walker on August 29, 2010

It’s a shame, but as time goes by, our lovely new computers tend to become slow and sluggish. Do we need to throw them away, or are there things that can be done to get them working again?

The main situations that lead to slow computer performance are memory (RAM) and the hard drive. Computers work with data, and moving data around and manipulating it consume the main part of the computer’s time. The speed and capacity of the RAM and hard disk determine the speed of these operations – they have a bigger effect than the processor speed.

First of all, over time, the latest programs become more demanding. This means that, although your computer had enough RAM in the past, it probably doesn′t now.

When the computer does not have enough RAM for a program, it uses the hard disk as a backup. But the problem is that, while it is far bigger than the RAM, the hard disk is a lot slower, making the program run slower than it should.

The hard disk can become slower over time. As it is filled up, it seems to be working slower. This is because the fastest areas of the disk are used first (the fastest areas are on the outside, the slowest are in the middle.) When data is stored near the middle of the disk, it can be much slower to load and save data.

While I have only mentioned a couple of points in this article, you should know that these are usually the main culprits. There are other things that you can do to make your computer faster, some of them less extreme than upgrading components. You can find out more at the site in the link below.

To find out other, quick and simple solutions, check out my slow computer fix website.

Handsfree Bluetooth Cell Phone Hints, Part 2

by Evelyn Connor on August 29, 2010

Tip #5: This can be a least known off tasks of bluetooth handsfree headset technology. Ensure that you are wearing your hands free bluetooth on a single side of the body as your bluetooth compatible cellphone. Some cellular phone headsets can not “see” through your body, so keep it line-of-sight.

Tip #6: Be wary of pairing a bluetooth compatible mobile phone to some vehicles’ bluetooth voice-dialer. Not every phone works while using profiles held by the automobile manufacturer. Get together with your automobile dealer to determine specifically which wireless phone manufacturers are recommended through the car dealer. Because a radio phone is bluetooth compatible and also the car is bluetooth compatible, doesn’t imply both devices will “see” the other. It’s far more complex than that. There are approximately 8-10 different profiles that bluetooth technology relates to, and hands-free bluetooth pairing using a vehicles’ dialer is just one of them. Only a few devices support every one of the 8-10 profiles. Don’t forget this principle however when you are purchasing equipment with bluetooth compatibility: you have anything you purchase.

Seek out my next blog..Maybe we’ll get a psychologist to see us the key reason why people do stupid things…like txt messaging on their cellular phone when they are driving…that’ll be a good one, eh?? TTFN. Tee, hee, hee.

That is that class, and also you don’t need up in the beginning a Saturday and go to the Home Depot. We’ll delve into issues like cell phone radiation protection (the myth-the legend), electromagnetic protection, roaming and why made it happen take us a week to acquire that text, possibly an appraisal or two, guest columnists and wireless industry return policies. If you’re a Sam’s Club member and also you enter into a Sam’s Club or if you’re a Costco member and you buy wireless phones at the local Costco Warehouse, ensure that you enquire about the return policy for their wireless phones and bluetooth products. Students Love Apple Laptops

by Ryan Baggins on August 28, 2010

I am in the market for a new notebook computer and in the process started asking around about the Apple Laptops. Many of my friends are in college getting our degrees so we can make money and start families and almost everyone seems to have an Apple.

This is not because they are chic and popular, but rather, since most students are poor, these notebooks must really work well. If they didnt word would soon be out and students wouldnt waste their money.

My friend from law class explained that since purchasing the laptop he has been more than happy about the performance. He told me that he has owned other laptops prior to this and got sick of the constant issues that many of the PCs have. This one, he excitedly told me, has no troubles and is so easy to use that you just plug it in right out of the box. He mentioned that adding new software is no longer an issue with slowing the computer either, which used to be a huge problem on other notebooks.

He said that this is a reliable unit and only wishes it had more than two USB inputs, but a hub will clear up that issue. Its durable too since hes always commuting and using it on the go.

My other friend told me that Apple Laptops are great for anyone in multimedia too. The power it has to do the bigger projects is his joy, and it is much faster than any other unit hes used on similar work.

The computer is great for editing large photos with aperture and also priced well enough if you need it for just word processing or surfing the internet. He loves the fact that its easy to pack around the school or anywhere.

Women love this machine especially the simplicity and speed. If you do not understand anything about computers, you can still enjoy the Apple Laptops. My friend said it never tends to hang like other computers and she told me that her Grandmother even uses it with ease.

For great deals on Apple laptops, check out these used Apple Powerbooks and used ibook computers for sale.

Color Laser Printers: Information About Different Kinds Of Barcodes And CD Label Printers

by Guss Jundoski on August 28, 2010

Ever asked yourself when the first barcode was put to use? Have you ever questioned how long we have been using the barcode as a security device within the consumer/retail business? Barcodes are an essential part of safe guarding and distinguishing a product, ever since its first release their appearance and capabilities have not changed a great deal. Nevertheless, they have turn out to be furthermore secure, with retail market sectors clamping down on anti-theft crime.

Specialized label printers were made to create the barcodes out making it easier to place them towards the items. They had been furthermore utilized to print onto the product packaging, which could be an expensive process. Barcodes made it simpler for store managers to keep track of how much stock they had left and decreased the number hours invested on keeping track of how much was sold. This additionally provided a much more accurate way of monitoring shoplifters.

History

Prior to the creation of label printers, barcodes and scanners, shopkeepers of the 1930s had no alternative but to dedicate at least once a month counting up all bags, cans, packets of goods producing a note of how much was sold and determining the information in correspondence towards the stock numbers. This was a cumbersome task and frequently shopkeepers would estimate the number of stock on hand.

This was of course inaccurate crude judgement; as a result, an urgent need for an alternative program was in demand. Wallace Flint, a business scholar at Harvard University of 1932, wrote a master’s thesis, which explained a new program wherein clients selected their products from a brochure that had hole-punched cards next to them, which they could tear out to take towards the till. They would then insert the card into a specially engineered reader machine, which would then deliver the products towards the customer via a conveyer belt system.

Nevertheless, this system was flawed, as the machinery itself was very expensive and complicated to build. In theory, the program would have worked, but the truth of the matter was that no retail business could afford this equipment. Therefore, the first steps towards barcodes eventually came to action in 1948.

The head of the food industry had pleaded with the dean of Philadelphia’s Drexel Institute of Technology to undergo research in automatically reading item information via the checkout. Bernard Silver and Norman Joseph Woodland, scholar students at Drexel, began working various prototype codes and labeling.

The primary problems of developing with a solution were cost, resources and assembly. Throughout the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s several formats of the barcode was developed which integrated the numeral code and bulls-eye code. It would not be until 1973 that the business standard codes had been selected, UPC. This was implemented in all retail stores, thus popularizing the barcode system.

Today with the advancement of pc technology and the creation of enhanced label printers, the barcode is really a prevalent source in nearly all retail stores. These are furthermore applied to armed forces and industrial applications. Many businesses have formulated and generated software that can manipulate bar coding. With this in mind the bar coding program will one day be replaced as technologies further advances, but for now they remain the primary use for the retail industry.

How The IPad Can Be An Effective Business Tool

by Alfred Lancer on August 28, 2010

From its inception, the iPad has been touted as a media consumer’s appliance. It is largely known for its flawless image rendering, video playback and vast storage space. Nonetheless, the iPad’s purpose does not begin and end on entertainment and leisure alone. It is also purposeful for business-savvy users who would like to experience Apple’s newest addition to its roster of technologically advanced products.

Apple is not entirely detached from Microsoft-based productivity programs; as a matter of fact, the iPad has built-in support for Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and 2007. The manufacturer understands the proliferation of Microsoft’s Business Email service and would not let their users be left behind in business if they choose to go with an iPad.

The Microsoft Exchange support will enable push email service and will be made available to the user’s calendar events and contacts’ information stored on their Microsoft profile. It is also possible to manage specific calendar details, search global address lists and inbox messages through this enhanced software feature.

Security is of utmost importance on an iPad at the owner’s preference, multiple complex passwords can be assigned to ensure that confidential information remain inaccessible to unauthorized persons. Data exchanged over-the-air or through the Internet can be encrypted to ensure security. Additionally, corporate communication over-the-air is highly protected by a certificate-based authentication process via Exchange and VPN. Even an unfortunate event such as loss or theft of the iPad will not leave important data vulnerable because information on it can be securely deleted through a remote command.

Specialized apps such as business metrics tracker, proposal reviewer, travel organizer, and flight tracker have been developed with the iPad’s business users in mind. Much like the enterprise edition of the BlackBerry RIM, Apple also hosts the iPhone Developer Enterprise Program. The difference of the iPhone Developer Enterprise from the Blackberry RIM is that the Apple-supported initiative will enable businesses to create their own specialized apps. Their very own apps will be shared to their employees and will be deemed proprietary by the client company.

Moreover, iPad profiles can be easily configured for businesses. Companies can set up their own profiles, complete with details such as VPN, e-mail, wireless network, and password and share it with colleagues on the iPad through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or the Internet.

Most importantly, iPad supports iWork, Apple’s office productivity suite of apps that enables the user to create and browse documents, spreadsheets and presentations. These apps have been redesigned to complement the iPad’s multi-touch system.

Keynote slides can be presented, created, and enhanced through the touchscreen device. iWork’s mobile versions of Numbers and Pages can also be managed by tapping elements on the multi-touch screen. These documents can be shared in different ways; for instance, a VGA adapter can be used to connect the iPad to a projector to allow larger displays for a roomful of audience. Microsoft documents can also be imported into the iPad. Presentations, spreadsheets and text documents can be shared on a wider scale by uploading to iWork.com where the public can view these files.
