A List Of The Five Best Starting Pitchers In The MLB

by Bart Jones on August 28, 2010

We′re in the midst of a lull in the baseball world, as the World Series ended two months ago and it’s yet another few months before the new season begins.

Having said that, I really do enjoy giving my personal opinions on different aspects of this great game as I have written several articles thus far. Here I will be discussing five pitchers who are currently playing baseball and whom I believe are among the best ones in the sport right now.

So here they are as picked by me. Whether or not you agree with me, I do welcome your thoughts about them.

Zack Greinke had the best season in baseball for a pitcher last year, but he still needs another great season or two under his belt before he can move up on this list. Still, Greinke is one of the most dangerous pitchers in baseball and has a bright future ahead.

Roy Halladay has been a consistent presence as one of the most reliable pitchers in baseball. Halladay is destined for the Hall of Fame when all is said and done.

Then there′s Chris Carpenter. I don’t know how he does it, but Carpenter is always spectacular. He came back from missing nearly two seasons last year and showed absolutely no signs of rust. In fact, he may have been better than ever before.

Naturally, Johan Santana makes this list too. Even though he hasn’t won a Cy Young award since joining the Mets, there′s one thing that you can count on in Santana, and that’s a great season year in and year out. For this reason, Santana makes number two on my list.

And in the #1 spot is Tim Lincecum, who has literally dominated the sport of baseball for two years now. Having an ERA in the twos is outstanding and Lincecum is indeed the top pitcher at getting strikeouts.

In addition to sports, this writer also regularly shares writing about cheap modern floor lamps and mini pendant lights.
